Quartz watches are powered by battery and do not have to be adjusted.. Batteries usually last about 3 to 5 years.
Watches with stopwatch function have two additional buttons, one on each side of the bezel.
The left button starts and stops the measurement of time. The right button is for reset to the zero position.

The movement of the arm will wind the watch automatically. Before wearing the watch, wind it or shake it a few times to start. If the watch has been inactive for longer periods of time, wind it approximately 25 times.
To adjust the time, turn the bezel anti clockwise to unlock. Then pull the bezel out (approximately 2 to 3 mm) to adjust the time. The bezel should always be turned clockwise to set the desired time.
To set the day/date and/or month push the bezel back halfway and turn it (slowly) clockwise or anti clockwise to set the day/date.
WARNING !!! Never adjust the day/date between the hours of 10 PM and 3 AM because the day/date gears have started to move and could be damaged |

Automatic, or self-winding, means the watch has a self-winding mechanism which allows it to run on its own without batteries. The advantage is, batteries are not required. The disadvantage is, they should be serviced every few years to make sure they run smoothly.
Chronograph are the little dials (or 'clocks') which appear within the watches themselves and are always fully functional on our watches. They are normally used as stopwatch timers.
Quartz means the watch runs on a battery. One disadvantage is, they normally have fewer markings and details than self-winding watches, and you have to change the battery so often.
